New Panther Express Buses
The new fleet of Panther Express vehicles are assembled, with the first of the new line now completed. The introduction to the new fleet on campus is tentatively planned for Spring Semester 2014,. The Eldorado National E-Z Rider II BRT, is a state-of-the art, heavy-duty buses, along with four smaller cutaway style vehicles. These new buses will include a kneeling feature that lowers the buses to street level, making boarding and departing the buses much easier and faster and greatly improving the ease of boarding and departures for persons in wheelchairs. The new buses will include automatic passenger counting and significantly improved heating and air-conditioning among other improvements. An added safety feature will be an on-board camera system called “DriveCam” to enable addressing any detected unsafe driver behaviors, allowing corrections in such behaviors to be made to improve the prevention of accidents from occurring.
